These names include :- Neighbourhood House, Living and Learning Centres, Learning Centres.
Whatever the name these places are local organisations that provide social, education and
recreational activities for their communities in a welcoming supportive environment.
- Community Houses are managed by volunteer committees and paid staff.
- They offer many opportunities for volunteers to participate in all aspects of house activities and management.
- Good quality affordable childcare & playgroups are offered at most houses.
- Activities are generally run at low or no cost to participants.
