Inu-Yasha wished he could just pass out and die. The pain he was feeling right at that moment was the worst he had felt in his entire life. Sessho-Maru standing in front of him, laughing, wasn't exactly helping, either. He groaned. He didn't want to admit it, but he was just too weak to fight. Good bye, Shippo, he thought miserably. Take care of Kagome. So long, Myoga. He hoped they would be all right when he was gone. And then Kagome...Kagome, he thought, I'm sorry, I -
Sessho-Maru let out a cry of pain and fell to the ground. Inu-Yasha tried to muster enough strength to look up, but he couldn't. He felt someone removing the chains, and then he collapsed. Through his bloodshot eyes he could see gray or black boots, and a whip. What in the seven hells? he thought. Then he saw a face looming over him.
"Are you Inu-Yasha?" Saia asked the grimy, half-dead half-demon. He groaned. I guess that means "yes", she thought. His wounds were bad, but nothing she couldn't handle. It was lucky she had picked the right door. If I had been just a few minutes late, she thought, he might have died. A few of her special healing powders took care of the worst damage. When he was back to his half demon self he would heal up completely. Right now he was just exhausted. She turned back to Sessho-Maru, who had a rather thunderous frown on his face.
"You," he said angrily. "You - "
"Right," Saia said smugly. Victory was sweet.
"I'm going to - "
"Like hell you are," she interrupted. "Love to stay and kill you, but I have more important things to do." She waved her hand, freezing Sessho-Maru. He watched as she dumped Inu-Yasha over her shoulder.
"See ya later," she said, blowing him a kiss, which, for some odd reason, he wished he could feel. She turned back to the door, just as it was opening, and Raksha came in with Kagome and Shippo over his shoulders. Saia dropped Inu-Yasha and gasped in surprise. Raksha grinned triumphantly, and Sessho-Maru smiled, although he was still stationary. Looks like the tables have turned, he thought.
