inuyasha started to really panic. it was the middle of a heavy fight and he needed to get him and kagome out of there, in case their auras came out of control. he started calling out her name. he turned around and suddenly saw her. she was floating in the air behind him, her body glowing eerily, her eyes hazy. suddenly her eyes became exceedingly clear, her face determined. inuyasha watched in amazement as she floated in front of him and landed on the ground softly. her body continued glowing, especially her hand which was holding the large shikon fragment.
gavin and naraku continued to fight, but it was obvious that gavin was losing. naraku had years of experience on his side and he was using it well. suddenly, a beam of shining light beamed right past gavin. he quickly turned around and dodged as the light struck naraku full in the chest. he looked to see kagome, her arms outstretched, her hand holding a brightly glowing object which was emitting the light. she began chanting an incantation and the light surrounded naraku, slowly dissolving his body.
"stop kagome! u'll kill urself using all that energy" shouted inuyasha. she ignored him, and naraku screamed in pain as the light continued to eat away at his body...

Gavin reached out to stop his greatgrandmother from impending death that awaited her if she wouldn't stop using the power of the Shikon fragment. "Kagome-san! Please stop! You'll kill yourself!" he called, trying to grab her shoulder to stop her. He cried out in pain as his palm was practically burned black from the energy coming from her.
"Get back, Gavin!" Inu Yasha said, approaching Kagome carefully. "Stop this now, Kagome! You don't have to do this!" KAgome was struggling stay straight as her energy was being sucked into the beam which still eroded Naraku's chest.
"I do!" she managed, finding it hard to speak. "If I don't, Miroku won't survive, and Sango won't have her revenge, and... and you'll never be happy!!!" tears begna to stream down her cheeks. "I want you to be happy!"
Inu Yasha stepped closer to her. She wanted that? She was willing to die for his happiness? "I won't be happy without you!" he shouted. "I'd rather die than live without you!"
Kagome gasped, tears still falling. He had just.... she pulled her hand back, attempting to exterminate the spell. "Nnngghh..." she cried out as more white light came from her body. "I...can't shut it off..." she breathed helpessly, falling to her knees. "If Naraku dies....then so do I..."
"Kagome!"
