Volume 2

Scroll 1 - Yura's Web

Yura sits among a bed of skulls, with a comb in her hand. She begins to comb through the hair of the skulls, creating longer and longer strands. Kagome and Inu-Yasha try to find the source of the hair, and comes a group of samurai with their heads cut off. Kagome picks up a set of bow and arrows, thinking that they might come in handy. Suddenly, Inu-Yasha finds himself tangled in a hair web, and they see a large ball of hair Yura has spun. Yura tells them that she wants to kill them so she can look for the Shikon shards in her leisure and promptly cuts Inu-Yasha with her sword.

Yura smiles happily as she prepares to strike Inu-Yasha again, but her hair web becomes loose as Kagome's arrows burn the strands. Kagome takes another shot, aiming for the large ball of hair. It barely misses Inu-Yasha, but does hit the hair. It unravels revealing a large number of skulls, including those of the samurai men. Yura uses her comb to burn Kagome down to the bone. Kagome cries out as she is surrounded by flames.

Scroll 2 - Dilemma

The flames begin to engulf Kagome as the other two look on (Inu-Yasha in horror and anger). He dips his claws into his wound and attacks Yura with his "Claws of Blood". It cuts off Yura's hand, the one who holds the blade with. To Inu-Yasha's surprise, she is still able to attack him, by manipulating the hair attached to her hand. In desperation he plunges his hand through Yura's body, yet it doesn't hurt her at all. Suddenly Yura finds something tugging at one of her hairs. She turns to look at Kagome, whom she has expected to be burnt to a crisp.

Scroll 3 - Soul Transfer

Yura attacks Kagome, who has spotted a skull from the hairs are tied to Yura's hand. Yet Kagome isn't cut by the hair, and she realises it is because of the coat Inu-Yasha has lent her. Yura tries to cut off Kagome's head, only to have her other hand cut of by Inu-Yasha's Claws of Blood. Kagome has again found the aforementioned skull and is trying to smash it, as Yura flings her blade at her. Just as the blade hits her, she splits the skull apart, as well as the comb inside. The comb contains Yura's soul, and she vanishes as the comb breaks. Kagome picks up the shard, but to her horror, notices the extent of Inu-Yasha's injury, cause he had given her his armour to protect her. As they walk off, a small creature looks on, saying that he has found "Lord Inu-Yasha" at last.

Scroll 4 - Half Breed

A group of soldiers are ensembled, having a feast. Suddenly the leader's head is wenched off by a demon and his follower Jaken. This demon is Sessho-Maru, who appears to be looking for a grave. Jaken uses the Staff of Two Heads to destroy the whole army.

Kagome is riding through on her bicycle to see Inu-Yasha. She offers to tend his wounds. She is surprised when she finds that he is healed and realises this is due to his being a demon. Suddenly, Inu-Yasha finds a flea sucking his blood. He slaps it to find it is Myoga who is the guardian of his father's tomb.

Kaede and Myoga tells Kagome about Inu-Yasha's father, yet when she asks about her mother, Inu-Yasha squashes Myoga and stomps out of the room, saying nothing apart from that she died a long time ago. Kagome realises that his mother must have been a mortal woman. Just then, they see a carriage flying through the sky. Inside is a woman, chained up. At the sight of the woman, Inu-Yasha gasps and whispers, "Mother?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scroll 5 - A Mother's Face
The woman also sees them, and calls out, "Inu-Yasha". Suddenly the carriage is attacked by a demon, who grasps the woman in his hand. Inu-Yasha looks up and sees Sessho-Maru, realising that he is behind the whole thing. Sessho-Maru calls Inu-Yasha 'little brother' and notices Kagome standing behind Inu-Yasha. He taunts Inu-Yasha about his mortal mother. Inu-Yasha attacks the demon holding his mother, and when he wakes up, the forest is no longer there, and he finds his mother next to him. She tells him that she has to return to the otherworld. Kagome also wakes and looks at the mother and son talk, but to her horror, she sees that the reflection of the woman on the water has no face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Scroll 6 - The Nothing Woman

Kagome realises that it is a trick but she has been paralysed and can't warn Inu-Yasha. Meanwhile the woman tells Inu-Yasha to look into the river at his reflection. He sees a much younger version of himself, and then the faceless reflection of his 'mother'. He struggles to get out of her grasp, but he finds himself being sucked into her body. Kagome tries to move and all of a sudden she notices the chains around her. They are back in the forest and everyone has been an illusion. Myoga frees Kagome by sucking her blood, causing her to break the chains in order to slap him.

Jaken asks the Nothing Woman whether she has found the place where Inu-Yasha's father's grave is by probing into his soul. Kagome kicks Jaken into the river and tries to pull Inu-Yasha back out from the Nothing Woman's body. She sees the little Inu-Yasha in the reflection and she swings the Staff of Two Heads through to break the spell. Inu-Yasha falls back out of the Nothing Woman, but it is too late - Sessho-Maru grabs him by the neck, having discovered the hiding place of the grave.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scroll 7 - The Black Pearl
Sessho-Maru pokes into Inu-Yasha's left eye to pull out a black pearl. He then tries to kill Inu-Yasha but the latter is saved by the Nothing Woman. Disgusted, Sessho-Maru treads on her broken form. Just then Jaken has recovered the Staff of Two Heads, and Sessho-Maru uses it to break open the seal of the grave. Inu-Yasha and Kagome follow Sessho-Maru and Jaken through the portal. Myoga tells them that Sessho-Maru has his heart set on a blade embedded in his father's remains. This blade is the Tetsusaiga or the Steel Cleaving Fang.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Scroll 8 - The Fang of Stell

The Tetsusaiga is carved from Inu-Yasha's and Sessho-Maru's father's fang, and is said to possess the power to cut down a hundred demons with a single pass. Sessho-Maru then tries to pull in out, only to find it has a shield spell, preventing him from taking it. Just then, Inu-Yasha arrives to fight Sessho-Maru who dodges his attacks easily. Kagome and Myoga convince him to have a go at freeing the sword as well, but to his embarrassment, it wouldn't come free.

Sessho-Maru now tries to take out Inu-Yasha, whilst Kagome and Jaken have a little battle of their own. Kagome leans on the Tetsusaiga for support and is terrified as Sessho-Maru prepares to finish off his little brother. She starts to run off to help him, but to everyone's surprise, the sword slides out easily.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scroll 9 - The Transformation
Everyone stares at Kagome who is looking embarrassed. Inu-Yasha uses this chance to attack Sessho-Maru who has already moved away, now standing right in front of Kagome. She tries to fend his poison talons off with the blade, as Inu-Yasha runs to save her but to his horror, he is too late and Kagome seems to have disappeared into the gooey stuff on the ground. Angered, he renews his attack on Sessho-Maru, now actually striking the latter.
Suddenly, Kagome emerges from the gooey mess, holding the Tetsusaiga. Sessho-Maru realises that the shield spell has protected her and now reverts to his true form to fight Inu-Yasha. Inu-Yasha swings the Tetsusaiga at him, except it did not even make a scratch. Aside Kagome yells out encouragement, which only annoys Inu-Yasha. He tells her that she wouldn't live if she is struck by Sessho-Maru. Tears form in Kagome's eyes. Shocked, Inu-Yasha yells out, "Let me protect you" and gets ready to fight again. As he holds the blade, he feels a pulse emitting from it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Scroll 10 - Legacy

Inu-Yasha stares at the blade, feeling its 'heartbeat' as Jaken yells out to Sessho-Maru to finish Inu-Yasha off. Inu-Yasha swings the blade at Sessho-Maru, who cries out in pain as one of his paws is cut off. The rusty sword has turned into a fang. Inu-Yasha swings again. Sessho-Maru runs off, Jaken not far behind.

Back in the village, Myoga explains to Kaede and Kagome as to why the latter had been able to pull out the sword. The Tetsusaiga is made by the demon to protect Inu-Yasha's mortal mother, and hence it can only be used to protect a mortal. Kagome then sets off to find Inu-Yasha, offering to teach him how to use the Tetsusaiga, as long as he would keep protecting her with it. Inu-Yasha laughs at Kagome for thinking he would 'always' protect her, and Kagome stomps off, after yelling "Sit!", leaving him clawing at the ground.
