The French Theatre of Melbourne

By Allee Keillor

The Melbourne French Theatre is a non-profit making company that started in 1977. The company performs many different genres of theatre from Molière to modern plays, each interpretation having English subtitles.
Ideal for students of French, the Melbourne French Theatre preforms two plays a year, the most recent play being Molière's L'avare, a comedy well known in France and the French speaking world fro its protagonist Harpagon, a pitiful miser.
Extensive information regarding Molière and his plays is available on the Internet. Youpi recommend the site http://www.site-moliere.com where you can read all of his plays and find out information about Molière.
The next play to be preformed by the French Theatre is "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett. For more information phone or send an e-mail to: info@mftinc.org
