When a wire winds to a shape of coil, it develops
a variety of expressive forms. At the beginning I set a certain pattern of the repetitive
movement, snaking the line of the wire. Almost inevitably though it is the wire itself
which seems to make its own decision as to which way it will transform, growing bigger
and stronger then reducing the scale gradually or shifting its balance spontaneously.
All these transformations are somehow beyond my control. The process seems like the
growth of an actual living form. It is a fascinating experience to see an unexpected
form as it grows out of my own hands. However one important job is left for me to
do: I have to make the ends to meet! That done a single wire is looped to present
a continuous and endless form. In necklaces the thickness of wire is also gradually
changing depending on the movement of the line.
