Child Care Pay Equity Case

The NSW Childcare Pay Equity case commenced on Wednesday 24 th August, 2005. There will be further hearings of the Childcare Pay Equity case at the NSW IR Commission on Wednesday and Thursday 24th-25th August and also September 20th, 21st, 22nd. There will be witnesses and submissions from the union and the 4-5 employers associations involved.

Anyone is welcome to attend any of the hearing dates.  This is really the first time that the principle of "work value" will be genuinely tested in the NSW jurisdiction - and unfortunately, it may be the last pay equity case we hear at the NSW IRC if the Federal Government takes over state jurisdiction.

Check out http://www.lhmu.org.au/childcare/index.html for more information.
